2021 Valentine's Day MakeUp Inspiration — Samantha Linn Beauty + Wellness (2024)

As cheesy as it may sound, Valentine’s Day is always one of my favorite holidays to celebrate! I don’t know if it’s eating all the chocolates guilt-free OR the excuse for extra hugs & kisses, but there’s something so special about it! As February 14th quickly approaches, I’m sharing THREE Valentine’s Day MakeUp Looks that are not only totally romantic and wearable, but that are also inspired by three of my favorite Valentine’s Day gifts! Tune in each day as I add a new look here!

#1. The Candy Inspired Look

This first look was inspired by the romantic tones & the glossy finish of these sweet little treats. Designed to mimic the watercolor hues, Glossier’s cloud paint was used to dust the eyes, cheeks, & lips and the Dior Palette added the perfect sheen to the skin to match the glass-like texture of the lollipops.

#2. The Chocolate Inspired Look

There is absolutely nothing like popping the top off of a box of chocolates and admiring the rich, delicious colors of a timeless candy. This classic gift always brings out the warm & fuzzy feelings in me, as I remember my Grandfather going out of his way to get a giant box for my Grandma every year. This second look was created with warm tones to make you feel just as rich as that box of chocolates.

#3. The Rose Inspired Look

The many hues of red within a dozen roses is absolutely mesmerizing. Not to mention, the color red itself… a color we instantly tie to love & the heart. So, what could be more romantic than lips that match just that? Carefully layering products will help you achieve that ombre look to mimic the shades within a rose! How’s that to finish off our final Valentine’s Day look?!

To demonstrate my expertise, I will provide information related to the concepts used in this article. Specifically, I will discuss Valentine's Day makeup looks inspired by different gifts. I will highlight the key products used in each look, explain the techniques involved, and provide insights into the color choices and inspirations behind each look.

1. The Candy Inspired Look

The first makeup look in the article is called "The Candy Inspired Look." It is inspired by the romantic tones and glossy finish of sweet treats. The makeup artist used Glossier's cloud paint, a watercolor-like blush, on the eyes, cheeks, and lips to mimic the soft hues of candy. To add a glass-like texture, they used the Dior BACKSTAGE Glow Face Palette to create a sheen on the skin. The key products for this look are:

  • Dior BACKSTAGE Glow Face Palette
  • Glossier Cloud Paint in "Puff" and "Haze"
  • ILIA Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil in "Only You"

The Candy Inspired Look is all about achieving a soft, romantic, and luminous makeup look that reflects the colors and textures of candy.

2. The Chocolate Inspired Look

The second makeup look in the article is called "The Chocolate Inspired Look." It is inspired by the rich, delicious colors of chocolates. The makeup artist created a warm-toned look to evoke the warm and fuzzy feelings associated with opening a box of chocolates. The key products for this look are:

The Chocolate Inspired Look aims to capture the timeless and indulgent nature of chocolates through warm and rich tones.

3. The Rose Inspired Look

The third makeup look in the article is called "The Rose Inspired Look." It draws inspiration from the mesmerizing hues of red found in a dozen roses. The color red is often associated with love and the heart, making it the perfect choice for a romantic makeup look. To achieve an ombre effect resembling the shades within a rose, the makeup artist carefully layered products. The key products for this look are:

  • NYX Micro Brow Pencil
  • Essence Lash Princess Sculpted Volume Mascara
  • MAC Lip Pencil in "Nightmoth"
  • Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Matte Lipstick in "Red Velvet" and "True Love"

The Rose Inspired Look aims to create lips that match the shades found within a rose, adding a touch of romance to the overall makeup look.
